Bolt on more power with an Egan Performance “header pipe" to your Stihl 261 chainsaw for an immediate increase in power and throttle response and a reduction of engine temperatures.
Independent dyno sheets show an increase of 6% in horsepower and maintaining more power throughout the rpm range. Please check out the dyno sheet below.
This pipe is compatible with all 261s with an adjustable carb, and only with V3 mtronics. Version 1&2 of the mtronic will not flow enough fuel to support the pipe. Running this pipe with V1&2 mtronic may lead to a lean seizure of the saw. Please look at below pictures to determine which mtronic version you have before ordering. The mtronic version is shown on the sticker which is located on the pistol grip as shown in the pic.
We recommend using orange loctite when install this pipe. The header pipe will get hot and can cause burns if it contacts your skin or clothing. We will not assume liability for misuse or negligence. The header pipe does not include a spark arrestor, nor mounting bolts.
Please Note: This is considered a 'larger' item. Only two 'larger' items can ship in our standard package. If you order more than 2 of these types of items, or other items in addition to them, there will be additional shipping charges, which you will be emailed an invoice for. (This note is in the product description of all of our larger items.)
Made in the USA from stainless steel.
Upon installation, the carb will need retuned or recalibrated.
Love it. Could not be happier with my 261.
Just got here, looks awesome. Great job on welding this pipe. Cant wait too give it a try
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Sounds amazing and really wakes up the saw!
I felt it in the “seat of the pants” test but this along with a K&N style filter I clamped on to the remaining flange after removing that silly labyrinth of a intake baffle that the OEM filter screws on to (silly Stihl engineers). Def woke it up and ripped through some pin oak we just removed and before the saw had a chance to fully adapt itself to the modifications. Only thing I would change would be for the pipe to be a slightly smaller diameter to match the exhaust port hole so it keeps its velocity instead getting bigger. This isnt a diesel.
Very well crafted, delivered intact, ahead of schedule and bolted on in seconds no issues whatsoever! Sounds so good I sent more videos that I plan to send Christmas cards!
